ISR-WFUMB-WHO Webinar on Safer Maternal and Newborn Care – the Role of Ultrasound Tuesday, September 14, 3pm-5pm CEST

The ISR, the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have the pleasure to invite you to join the

ISR-WFUMB-WHO Webinar on
Safer Maternal and Newborn Care – the Role of Ultrasound

Tuesday, September 14, 3pm-5pm CEST

Chairs: Guy Frija (ISR) and Jacques Abramowicz (WFUMB)

The webinar will be held in celebration of World Patient Safety Day (WPSD), which is commemorated annually on 17 September. WPSD was established by the World Health Assembly in 2019 with the objective to enhance global understanding of patient safety, increase public engagement in healthcare safety, and promote global action to prevent and reduce avoidable harm in healthcare.

The focus of WPSD this year is on safety in maternal and newborn care, calling on all stakeholders to come together and “Act now for safe and respectful childbirth”. This is particularly important in the context of the disruption of health services caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but also in the light of gender equity and violence issues and the effort to link respectful healthcare with safety.

The webinar will feature high-level speakers from WHO, radiology, ultrasound, radiological technology and midwifery, among others, and will take into account the situation in different areas of the world, including low- and middle-Income countries.

The detailed program will be announced shortly.

Registration is FREE of charge.

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join the webinar.

The ISR collaborates with the WHO as an NGO in official relations, to facilitate the global endeavors to improve patient care and population health through medical imaging. Cooperation with WFUMB, another NGO in official relations with WHO, takes place through the ISR Quality and Safety Alliance (ISRQSA) and is centered around medical imaging safety issues.

We look forward to welcoming you on 14 September!
